Community Development Block Grant Program  Releases 2020 Schedule

The 2020 Community Development Block Grant season is about to begin!
CDBG funds have been put to effective use in Lincoln County by
supporting job creation, business growth, public services,
and improvement of public infrastructure. We’ve met with a few County
towns interested in pursuing economic development projects, and want
to update everyone.
All CDBG funded activities must meet
one of three National Objectives of the
program: 1) benefit to low and moderate
income persons; 2) prevention and/or
elimination of slum and blight
conditions; and 3) meeting community
development needs having a particular
urgency. Every application is submitted
via a municipality on behalf of either the
town itself, a business or a non-profit. It’s an excellent example of public/private partnership. Four programs should be of interest to LC towns: Community Enterprise (business façade or streetscape improvements in villages or downtowns; Economic Development (gap funding to assist specific businesses in creating jobs for low-to-moderate income people), Micro-Enterprise Assistance (grants or loans to for-profit businesses for working capital and interior renovations), and Public Infrastructure. HEAD to lcrpc.org for more info about the CDBG application processes, match requirements, eligible activities, deadlines, etc. Please give us a call — 882-5983 — if your town is interested in pursuing a CDBG grant or if there’s a business or non-profit which could be a good fit for the CDBG program.
