Come Rain or Come Shine
Wiscasset- Scarecrow Fest 2022 is expecting a big turnout this year, with a move to the Wiscasset Municipal Building as a fortress against any negative weather!
Starting Saturday, October 8, the Wiscasset Chamber will be helping to set up a display of scarecrows for businesses and the like for a small fee of $15 (for chamber members, $20 for non-members) which includes a pole and id tags. Prizes will be given for best in category. So get together your ideas and show off your creativity!
Monday, October 10 through Saturday, October 15, the Wiscasset Rec Scavenger Hunt will take place! Hints to find the hidden scarecrow can be found at the Wiscasset Rec Facebook page. When you find one, take a photo and send it to WPRD via FB Messenger or email dgoud@wiscassetrec.com.
Saturday, October 15, 11:00 am-4:00 pm, many activities for kids will be available! Face painting, stories with Allary Grasso, games, and scarecrow building, $5 to leave it, $10 to take it home. Rob Bickford will entertain us with his musical talent, the M.O.A.L. will showcase their vintage car collection, noon-3:00 pm. Vendors/craft tables will have a variety of products for sale, so bring some green with you! The chamber is offering free coffee and there will be hot dogs and burgers for sale.
The Chili/Chowder/Pumpkin Dessert Challenge is certain to entice cooks and bakers of various genres to enter to win some coveted cash for their award winning dish! Set up is at 10:30 am in the selectmen’s meeting room. $20 per entry, utensils, napkins, bowls, plates will be provided.
The day wouldn’t be complete without a movie at sunset. Starting around 4 PM, bring a blanket, chairs and be prepared for the whole family to enjoy!
