Midcoast Conservancy is hosting their third annual State of the Sheepscot event on September 24, 2025. The free community event will be held from 5 – 7pm at the Whitefield Elementary School Gym, 164 Grand Army Rd, Whitefield.
Attendees will learn about the Sheepscot River in regards to Midcoast Conservancy’s work in the watershed, including land conservation, stewardship, and river restoration, and how to help strengthen the resources in the watershed. Whether you live, work, or recreate in the Sheepscot watershed – this event is for you!
In addition to Midcoast Conservancy board and staff speakers, Jen Noll, a Fisheries Biologist with the Maine Department of Marine Resources Bureau of Sea-Run Fisheries will present on endangered Atlantic salmon in the Sheepscot River. Jen’s knowledge runs deep as she has 15 years of experience working with Atlantic salmon in the Sheepscot River.
The event will begin at 5pm with informational tables on Midcoast Conservancy’s work in the Sheepscot watershed, along with representatives from the Maine Natural Areas Program and the Sheepscot Knotweed Project. Attendees will have an opportunity to speak with Midcoast Conservancy staff and other members of the conservation community while enjoying refreshments.
The presentations begin at 5:30pm with the opportunity to chat more with staff and check out the informational tables afterwards. Door Prizes will be given, and have been generously donated by The Alna Store, WW&F Railroad, and Sheepscot Brewery.
